Citing COVID-19 safety concerns for dine-in services coupled with unsustainable takeout revenue, Mother’s Cafe owners, John Silberberg, Anne Daniels, and Cameron Alexander, announce the closing of Mother’s Cafe.

According to Austin360, “The Mother’s owners intend to continue to grow their packaged foods business, led by the popular tamari-cashew dressing. Silberberg said they’d be open to discussions about selling the restaurant’s name or exploring a future elsewhere.”

Mother’s Cafe will serve its final meal on October 24.

  1. Truly this event is marking the end of an era. I remember eating at Mother’s in the early 00s before there were so many options in Austin. I loved the Garden Patch salad, cashew tamari, and tofu lasagna. And the salsa was always fresh and amazing.
